Taken by 'Chelle.

Well, things are a tad rough for me at the moment. I tore the cartilage in my knee.....now don't go thinking I am this athletic person who did something foolish while exercising or running or something like that...NOT AT ALL !!!! LOL This all started 3 weeks ago and I have no idea how it happened. My Dr. was nice enough to point out that sometimes it just happens with age and joint deterioration. Wasn't that nice of him??? LOL It has gotten progressively worse and also has fluid on it. He suggested getting the fluid drained and a cortisone shot to, hopefully keep it the fluid from building up again. So, we are trying to find an orthopedic Dr. that doesn't want an arm and a leg up front before you ever even get to say HI to him.

This is mostly a waiting thing and hoping that it will eventually get better. Not sure how, since cartilage has no blood supply to it to help it heal. Meantime, I am in intense pain, sometimes bordering on excruciating and trying to stay off my feet. A woman staying off her feet???? Surely that's an oxymoron!!! LOL

I think I was a tad overzealous with my exchange signups.....but I'll be busy! LOL I did miss one deadline on my International Mailart group. Our Children's story exchange was due out yesterday. I will have mine finished in a day or two and then get it on it's way.

Then I have a Sampler mailart due Nov. 16, St. Louis Stitcher's Ornament Exch. due Dec 1, a Lizzie Kate Mail art due Dec 16 and a Snowman Mail art due Jan. 16.

Well, it keeps me out of trouble, what can I say? LOL

My absence has been noticed and commented upon by my friend 'Chelle. So, here I am trying to fix this omission.

Oct 15-16 We had a booth at a reatil Cross Stitch Show over in Lebanon, IL. The show is sponsored by Mom and Me, Ltd. one of our LNS's and all proceeds are donated to the Hosipice of Southeastern IL. People enter their pieces for judging. I just like to see all the entries. You almost always see something you have never seen before.

We unveiled our newest design at this show, "A New Beginning". It was VERY well received. It is stitched on 32ct Irish Creme linen from R&R Reproductions with Weeks Dye Works overdyed floss. It is selling very well, I'm happy to say.

In the works (meaning still in my head LOL) are designs for needlwork smalls i.e. fobs, pincushions, needlebooks etc. And a fairly large Quaker piece using the Olde Willow Stitchery Quaker color flosses. Looking forward to getting the one going too.

Wow!! I'm bloggin' !!

Who'd a thunk it?? I don't have time now for everything in my life....so why not add another little tid bit, right? I always was a little nuts.

Yup, I'm still stitchin' after all these years....I've been doing counted cross stitch for 27 years...off and on. Did lots of other types before that. Both my mother and my fraternal Grandmother were needleworkers.

I'm in the the throes of trying to combine two houses and update the one we are living in at the same time.....and I'm way too old to be doing this!! LOL I've come to a conclusion though. If I stand any chance of making progress, I will have to sit down and make a daily schedule.....and stick to it!!! Oh boy....I never was good at things like this....I just do better flying along by the seat of my pants....but I don't accomplish a lot that way.

I've even considered looking at Flylady's site again.....seeing if maybe there is a pared down version of her madness that might work for me LOL

Meantime, I did finish a small Christmas piece the first of the month. It's by Hobb Nobb Designs...I just love their little buttons!! And yes, on this one, a couple of buttons are rather crooked...well, ok, most of the buttons are crooked....gives it personality...right??
